Messages that help
- A threshold, a surcharge rate or a rebate percentage that differs from the ATO page: give the page and the figure you see.
- A Lifetime Health Cover case our calculator handles differently from your insurer's clearance certificate, with the dates involved.
- A premium that no longer matches the policy's current Private Health Information Statement.
- A new official figure (the 1 April rebate rates, next year's thresholds, a bill passed by Parliament) that we have not entered yet.
- Embedding the calculator on a blog, a forum or an employer intranet: the code is on the embed page.
What we cannot do
We cannot look at your tax return, tell you which policy to buy, obtain a quote or act on a claim. Your assessment comes from the ATO, your loading and rebate are applied by your insurer, and the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman deals with complaints about insurers. We are not a government office.

Surcharge and rebate figures follow the ATO tables for 2026-27; premiums come from the PrivateHealth.gov.au file and change every 1 April. Your notice of assessment and your insurer's quote are what count. General information, not tax, legal or financial advice.
